Thursday afternoon the junior and senior girls basketball teams kept their winning streak alive by beating the Tecumseh Vista Vortex in two fast-paced home games.
The junior girls started their game off strong, with nice teamwork and great effort. The players demonstrated their endurance during the back-and-forth scoring first and second period. The Lasers showed nice passing and good shots. They were also quick to grab the rebound and did a good job at keeping possession of the ball. The fourth period was a nail-biter, which kept the crowd on the edges of their seats. The Lasers pulled through and kept their lead, to secure a 27 to 23 point win. “I thought our girls played really well. I needed some of those grade nine girls to step up and they really did. I’m really happy with the effort. Some shots didn’t drop, but I know we’ll get better every game,” said Mr. Nora, one of the coaches of the junior team.
