On Thursday, the Laser boys volleyball teams played against the Riverside Rebels that resulted in a win for the seniors and a loss for the juniors.
The seniors started off the game with strong passes and serves. They did a great job covering teammates and defending the court, leading to them winning the first set. The Lasers kept the pressure and won the next two sets, making it a 3-0 win. “Honestly I think we should improve on our talking but overall we did a great job...our team was positive, and we never put our heads down.” said Jon M., a grade 11 member of the team.
The junior boys had a solid start to their back-and-forth game against the Rebels. The boys showed great teamwork and perseverance on the court. They also maintained a positive attitude and good effort despite losing 1-2. “We came in tonight knowing we were playing the top team, who was undefeated, so I am proud of the boys for working hard especially in the second set. It was good for them to come through like that. The boys did especially well in new positions that they had never been in before.” said the coach, Mrs. Fetter. Special mentions go out to Allen C. for great hits, Brayden W. for having a great first day back from his injury, Gabe R. for stepping in to set, Ezra F. and Brandon C. for their smart plays and athletic abilities, and Simon E. and Tayo A. for their good defense and hits.
Good job Lasers!
