My Thoughts on the Infinity War Trailer [SPOILER]

The poor DCEU could just not catch a break. After what seemed like forever, Marvel Studios released the long-awaited trailer for Avengers Infinity War on November 29th, 2017; a day that will most definitely go down in history. Infinity War will be the largest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by far, with over 60 characters rumoured to appear on screen. The final product will be a spectacle to behold, but for now, I am going to break down the amazing first trailer, which by the way, has broken the record for most views worldwide in 24 hours, with more than 200 million views!

HEADS UP: Spoilers will be featured below!

Where do I even begin? In this trailer, we saw many characters teaming up and meeting for the first time! Epic, grand scale battles on multiple planets. No fan could have asked for anything more. The Hulkbuster Suit will be making a return, and Loki appears to be wavering back to the side of evil! Seeing my favourite characters talking to each other and battling alongside one another; I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. This look into Infinity War gave us just enough to intrigue and make us curious, but didn’t totally give away the movie, and that is how any great trailer should be.

Another shocking factor was Thanos. To me, this was probably the absolute best part of the trailer, as we had not seen much of Thanos actually doing anything up to that point. It seems that now he is out of his chair up in space, and is ready for action. Viewers saw him slamming down Avengers left and right, from Spider Man to Iron Man. There were small shots of Thanos putting Infinity Stones into his gauntlet, and those scenes looked very clean and nice, with high-budget special effects. Seeing what destruction Thanos can dish out makes me very excited to see the Infinity Gauntlet in the movie.

Last, but definitely not least, was the score. The original Avengers theme, with a bit of a more dramatic tone, served as the ending fanfare for the trailer, and it sounded like a symphony. It gave off an epic feel that I don’t think any other piece of music could do for this trailer. Speaking of which, the rest of the background music was just as intense. It’s hard to describe in words, but as I listened to it, I somehow was able to tell that this movie was going to be an all out war among the heroes and villains; that this was the scariest thing the Avengers had ever faced, and when a piece of music alone can do that, that is when you know it’s good.

So, those are my thoughts on the Marvel Studio’s: Avengers Infinity War Trailer, which comes to theatres May 4th, 2018.
