Teacher Spotlight: Mme. Carpio-Sementilli

Mme Carpio-Sementilli has been teaching for 21 years. Throughout those 21 years she was a supply teacher for the public board, taught at Holy Names for 18 years, and now she is in her first year as a St. Joseph’s Laser! Mme Carpio-Sementilli has always wanted to be a teacher. She is teaching 3 subjects this year: French, English, and Religion. There is a very good chance you’ll run into her this year!

Mme Carpio-Sementilli has 2 sons, a husband, and a hamster named Shotgun. She leads a very busy, but interesting life. She loves travelling, and has vacationed around Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and North America. She has hopes for her students to “graduate and do great things.” We asked her for a couple of fun facts, but she didn’t have any as we already knew them all. She’s a very open book! However, next time you’re having a conversation with Mme Carpio-Sementilli, check out her black thumb!

Mme Carpio-Sementilli has high hopes for the wrestling team this year! She is the new St. Joe's wrestling moderator. Wrestling is Mme Carpio-Sementilli’s favourite sport. As both of her sons compete in wrestling, she spends a lot of her time watching the sport. She has one lesson she would like to teach her students, and that’s the lesson of perseverance. She wants all of her students to finish hard, in class and on the mats!

Without a doubt, everyone should get to know Mme Carpio-Sementilli! From Religion to wrestling, she can cover it all!
