Strong-willed and full of creativity, Angela Chamoun is a Grade 9 student who dreams of taking the world head on. She is one of the many new students at St Joseph's who are nearing their second semester already! Angela previously attended two schools, Georges P. Vanier (GPV) , and St Marguerite d’Youville (SMY) . She went to GPV until her Grade 5 year, which is when she decided to attend SMY for Grade 5 and Grade 6. Finally, she decided to go back GPV for Grade 7 and Grade 8 for graduation.
As first semester is quickly coming to a close, Angela is doing her best to adapt and keep up with all the new changes like studying for final exams, as well as reflecting back on her first semester of high school. She says that her first semester went better than expected. “My first semester was alright. I really enjoyed my Drama and Science classes”. On the other side of things, Angela has created a working mindset for finals that will definitely get her through them. “I’m a bit scared for exams; but either way I’m going to study hard to get the grades I want,” said Angela. Everyone messes up sometimes, and we all make mistakes, but Angela believes that her success, and failures can be seen as achievements. She looks at mistakes as great learning opportunities. “I think that I achieve in even the bad things in a way. I work even harder after that.”
A major accomplishment in Angela’s life is her rising acting career! Acting has always been a dream of hers, and she is taking many steps to make it a reality. She has an agent who helps her out along the way, and is always on the lookout for new openings and auditions to try out. She enjoys acting out stories and bringing characters to life in front of the camera, as well as performing for an audience. Angela hopes to keep on moving up in the acting field!
As mentioned before, Angela is an extremely creative person, and this has driven many of her choices for the future. Three possible careers that Angela has in mind are becoming a lawyer, as she loves to debate and prove points; an author, as she loves to tell stories; and an actor, because she loves to perform. Now, these are all highly competitive careers, but Angela knows how to get there. Angela knows that in order to get what you want in a world where so many others want the same thing, you have to make the right decisions and work very hard because nothing will be handed to you. “You can’t be standard and expect to get a successful career out of it.” Words well spoken.
