Meet Raidyn Landry, an outgoing and confident Grade 9 student who is interested in wrestling and everything life has to offer. Raidyn previously attended St Anne’s Catholic Elementary School, and is now part of the French Immersion program here at St Joseph's. He loves to participate in all kinds of school events, and is never afraid to explore something different.
Over the course of Raidyn’s life, he has accomplished many things, but in particular, he still remembers the day that he achieved a goal he had been striving to achieve for a long time, and that is when he attended the OFSSAA wrestling competition, in his first year of being on the wrestling team. The feeling of triumph and success that he felt at the meet was an amazing thing that Raidyn was able to experience, and it holds a special place in his heart. On a lighter note, he is also proud of being the Laser’s Limbo champion, with his recent win in the limbo competition hosted by the student council.
Wrestling has changed Raidyn’s life in an extremely positive way. “I met people that I would probably not have had the chance to before, and we do a lot of fun stuff together as a team.” said Raidyn. The team was a great place for him to meet new friends, and also a good opportunity to get involved at school. Along with the social aspect, Raidyn also credits the team for introducing him to a new passion of his, because in joining the team he learned that wrestling is something he really enjoys doing.
Raidyn has many hopes and dreams. for the future. First of all, he wants to one day become a father, and have a loving and caring family. Raidyn is very family-oriented, and would love to have kids. In terms of his career, he has three possible fields he would like to go into. Raidyn would like to be either a professional dancer, as dancing is a hobby of his, and something that brings him a lot of happiness; a fighter, because wrestling is a large part of his life, and because it has great physical benefits; and the final option is a calisthenics trainer, otherwise known as a personal trainer, because Raidyn likes to help people become happy with who they are, and wants to aid others in feeling comfortable with themselves. In the end, whichever path he chooses, it seems that Raidyn has a bright future waiting for him!
