So what’s up with the lottery? If you're new to the school, either by transferring from another school or simply being in grade nine, you might be a little confused as to what this event is and how it runs. Firstly, welcome to St. Joseph’s High School. Secondly, to answer the question, this is the fundraiser for Parent Council. Essentially, this means that the profit made from the lottery will go to extra things in school for you, like sports teams and school clubs.
How it works is pretty simple. The tickets were distributed to all classes last Thursday. The only thing you need to do is sell 6 or more individual tickets to someone who is eighteen years of age or older and then return the money to you home room teacher. And then, Mr. Gilbert will painstakingly take care of the rest.
You may also be asking, what do I get from selling all of my tickets? If you sell your first book of tickets before October 16th then you will receive the GOLD PLAN. The gold plan includes: five casual dress down days in November of 2018 as well as permission to dress down during first semester exams. If you sell your first book of tickets between October 16th and the October 23rd, you will receive the SILVER PLAN. With the silver plan, you may dress down during the five days in November, but not for exams. An additional reward to the homeroom that sells the most tickets will be a free breakfast courtesy of Chef Soks, and the student that sells the most tickets will receive one week of free lunch from the staff dining lounge.
Last year, 3091 tickets were sold. Let’s try to beat that number this year. SO SELL YOUR TICKETS LASERS!!!!!
