On Tuesday, November 13th, 2018, the St Joseph’s Swim Team made their triumphant return at their first swim meet of the season, which was hosted at the Windsor Aquatic Centre. Swimmers showed a great deal of enthusiasm as they arrived at the venue, and came prepared to compete.
The swim team was brought back this school year after a 12 year hiatus, thanks to team coaches Ms. Donais and Ms. Romeo, assisted by other coaches. Many students signed up, and the new team of 21 swimmers was formed.
The meet was a beneficial experience, and helped the athletes to gain plenty of knowledge about the sport, as well as the competition atmosphere. Surrounded by many other high schools who were competing, Lasers made sure to cheer on their fellow teammates with lots of encouragement.
Each and every student that swam in the meet gave their best effort, and represented their team and their school in a positive way. The hard work, practice, and feedback from coaches paid off.
The season is just beginning, and the swim team hopes to improve and become stronger as a team as the year progresses.
