On Thursday, February 14 the St. Joe’s Swim Team went to WECSSAA for the first time in several years. With the help of their coaches and fellow teammates, the Lasers dominated the pool! The entire team demonstrated their skills with a great deal of passion, confidence and humility. The team truly made St. Joe's proud.
Aiden Ferrone, Melanie Trifan, Brenna Johnstone, Seth Kwasnicki, Jackson Barron, Diana Lechinski, Mara Pascariu, Diana Pasciuta-Tennant, Emily Gates, Mychaela Brown, Eva Arnini, and Maddie Rourke all placed within the top 10 in at least 1 of their races. The 12 proceeded to compete in the finals in the afternoon. They all raced with strength and great endurance. However, only 5 are advancing to SWOSSA on Thursday, February 21. (Aiden F, Melanie T, Seth K, Diana L, Mara P, and Diana P-T). Everyone did a great job showing off their skills obtained throughout the season!
On Thursday, February 21, the swimmers have a chance of qualifying for OFSAA. OFSAA is throughout March 4-6 in Toronto! You can definitely look forward to more information regarding the next 2 meets. In conclusion, the team raced their hearts out and truly did their best! We wish the Lasers the best of luck at SWOSSA and (hopefully) OFSAA! Keep your fingers crossed for the Swim Team!
