On Wednesday, February 13th, the senior boys basketball team faced off against the Villanova Wildcats in their first game of the playoff season. The Laserdome was filled with students, family, and even teachers who had come to support the boys in the Quarter Final game. The Lasers quickly gained possession of the ball and had an early lead after the first quarter. The game was fast-paced and its quick turnover gave the audience many opportunities to cheer and show their school spirit. The Lasers easily maintained their lead throughout all four quarters, and secured an 80-35 point win. “I believe this game was a good game for us. I feel like the team bonded really well and played together really well. It’s just a warm up game for the one that we have next,” said Gabriel R., a grade eleven team member.
The game was an energetic and exciting game. The scores of each quarter were 23-10, 40-14, 61-26, and finally, 80-35. One of the coaches, Mr. Gabreal, said he was unable to choose one single outstanding player from the game. He stated that the whole team did an amazing job and he feels hopeful about the next game.
On Wednesday, the junior boys were narrowly defeated by Villanova.
Great season boys!
