Get to Know the Performers at Canada's Got Talent

The energy levels were extremely high at St. Joe’s on Monday! St. Joseph’s very own Lasers showed extreme courage and talent by getting up on stage and perform amazing pieces that highlight the diversity and greatness of Canada itself! Featuring performances of songs, dances, and even depictions of creation itself, Monday’s Canada 150 Talent Show was not something anyone would want to have missed!

Some notable performances were Mr. Morson’s performance of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, and Mr. LaBute’s performance of Stitches by Shawn Mendes. And, of course, no one could forget about their amazing duet that concluded the show! Mr. Morson and Mr. LaBute combined forces to give the audience an excellent rendition of If I Had $1,000,000, by the Barenaked Ladies.

The show also featured two amazing performances by Mrs. Mailloux’ grade 11/12 drama class. Their first performance, a visual story of creation as told by the Indigenous peoples of Canada, was visually stunning. Their second performance, which gave the audience a look into the struggles faced by children of the Indigenous peoples, was heart-wrenching and very emotionally charged.

The show as a whole was a huge success! St. Joseph’s Lasers are truly some of the best, most talented students in the school board, and no one can wait to see what they’ll do next!
